“If you really wanna have the taste of real diverse INDIA, don’t you dare miss the showcase of R-DAY Parade. Time for some patriotic flavor. HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY!”
Since time immemorial, India shifted from an imperial power to democracy. Or rather I should mention to demagoguery. The so called “By the people, of the people and For the People” government has taken its way towards political elitism making the “aam aadmi” to suffer most. And the reality is we are bound to suffer. The reason is truly justified by Bill Clinton’s eloquent speech at Campus Progress National Student Conference on July 13, 2005. He says-
“People really don’t care if politicians attack each other with untrue stories. They figure if you don’t want to get hurt, you shouldn’t have filed for office. They figure whatever happens to us, our lives will be better than theirs.”
It all starts when the candidates come out on hustings with their astute but incandescent speeches and the innocent “janta” is carried away by their sycophancy. To win over the desired incumbent position the leaders adapt poignant practices accompanied by their cock and bull stories that land citizens into thick soup. Didn’t the wisecrack highlight the same point when the common man and his brethren donated a mammoth garland strung together with 1,000-rupee notes to their beloved dalit leader MAYAWATI? Gone are the times when the tenacious leaders like Indira Gandhi blazed a trail in the Indian history as they kick started a new revolution in the Indian political state turning its face towards an advancing world? But unfortunately the developing India has been bogged down by our current hypocratic politicians who promise and forget. Till now parliament has done only “lip service”. There have been proliferous tasks that they start impeccably but then leave it in the abyss of despair. For instance, most political leaders talk about emancipation of women but turn their back when it comes to the empowerment of women. Truly these politicians are versatile in creating a grimy political arena where its citizens are left with a thinking that has the “Cinderella syndrome” as its basis. Leaders suggest their people to work in unison but it is quite an irony that these parties have gossip mongers within their society itself who takes less than a minute to make the mountain out of molehill. Thanks to media that we are timely updated with this ostentatious game that helps increase our inquisitiveness in the “Indian politics” which otherwise seems drab and phony to many. The burgeoning political turmoil and coercion has ushered into a “CROOKED” Indian government giving way to a fourth world which lets say may talk about under deteriorating nations. It can be clearly seen that the present “Langda Bharat” is a corollary of our actions that we blindly trust the contemptible politicians and hand our nation in their hands. The naked truth is we consciously jump on the political band wagon of electing where we never vote for anybody, we always vote against. It is so because we think it concerns our nation and not are personal lives. We often forget that we are from India and not India from us. And then we are smugly saying “Bharat ka kuch nai ho sakta”. We forget that being Indian citizens we have certain responsibilities towards our collective society which we call nation. Just electing the representatives and then blaming them for everything while carving our own personal niche is not enough.
We must remember Baapu’s words when he said “we must become the change we want”.If we keep on sleeping with our duties like this it will be tantamount to admit that there certainly will be a fourth world with India topping the list. Time to wake up Indians. It’s not too late. Afterall even our protagonist Indira Gandhi firmly believed that “MARTYRDOM does not end something, it’s only a beginning.”
The lamb India is awaiting its crutches. “Bharat tabhi jagega jab uski junta jagegi…”
Hope this small attempt of mine speaking the voice of Youngistan will help reconcile the need for better India with a concern for our democratic principles.
For four months back from now, I remember sitting with my elder sister discussing with her the most burning topic of that time- “my forthcoming college life”. We talked about friends, fun and other college stuff, but to my surprise she added one more tile to the mosaic of my life coloured by “teachers”. She was quite poignant while telling me about the teacher-student bonding. I laughed incredulously at what my ears had just heard. After all a young raring mind was never ever ready to believe such “Eklavya” type stories. This was the reality for me until I came to CIET and encountered a never realized thought before.
Down the memory lane, I can still recall each second of that 60 min lecture which added a new chapter to my book of principles. The first lecture of my college life and the sixth lecture of the subject schedule. This was because I had joined late. The gal next to me told that it was Mathematics class and the topic going on was Infinite Series. “GOSH!” was the word I murmured in response. From the very beginning, Maths has always filled me with a sense of ennui. And Infinite Series for heaven’s sake has appeared more irritating than Ekta Kapoor’s serials. While I was busy introspecting my thoughts, entered a man in the class who had a suave and gentlemanly persona. With an inceptive smile, he wrote on the board “Leibnitz Rule”. All I could think that moment were just two things, first he seemed impressive and second that Leibnitz was quite a funny name. The next 60 min were spent gingerly listening to what he taught. I was amazed to realize that the time which I thought would be toughest for me to bear has passed away in an unknowing manner. For the first time I actually understood infinite Series in the first go itself and that too when the topic was approaching its finishing line. It seemed a time of real celebration for me. This could be possible because of two reasons- either the chapter was too easy or the way he taught too different. Through my past two year’s experience, I am sure it wasn’t the first case, so definitely it was the latter one.
Time passed by and maths became a subject of interest for me. Every time he stepped out the class after the 60 min lecture, I was left with new lessons about life to ponder over with. Each passing day, i learnt two things from him, one concerning maths and other concerning life. And it’s not just me. I am sure many others too feel the same as he is adored and respected by all. Clearly evident from the strength of students present in his class. Hardly anyone could think of bunking his lecture because his class is a blend of learning with fun, masti and other frank interactions from his and our life which all together creates an ethereal magic that forces us to stick to our seats. His indefatigable and perseverant attitude always beckons us to live life with aplomb. He never gets angry over our wrong deeds rather helps us understand the cause one improve the same. He firmly believes that primarily every student has something unique to offer. The next step is to identify and hone these skills and see how they can be leveraged best in the larger context. He always tells us to believe in the philosophy of “helping”. He says a person helping others is worth calling human. Through his college stories which he shares with us, it can be clearly concluded that besides a versatile teacher, he was also a splendid student. He has brought the difference to my life. Now I don’t study for marks but because I love to. He’s changed the perspective with which I looked at engineering profession.
I don’t know how to write an essay but I am sure I know how to express my gratitude towards someone whom I admire and respect in a real sense. He’s truly a teacher by heart and not by profession who has given a new path to my ideology. I pardon he has given me the path and not Shown one. I have been lucky enough to be his student.
tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
I can clearly remember that..At the age of 4..a girl standing on the bridge holding her dad’s hand..at about 7 in the evening in that partially illuminated foggy place looking at the train diagonally down the bridge and smiling…then she innocently exclaimed “wow dad! how about we buy a train..its so lovely!..”…the girl was me!
When it comes to our day to day life, we normally talk about our mundane routine and the way the day passed. But have you ever thought about the way your morning has passed. Quite skeptical, but seriously for a min I want you to close your eyes and recall about how your morning was today. Specifically I am talking about the time we spend after waking up till the breakfast. Ruminating it again and again the answer in most cases is brushing our teeth, reading newspaper, having a bath, exercise or any other sort of workout n stuff. So basically it’s about getting ready for the whole day ahead I guess. And then the entire day after breakfast is lost in our busy scheduled life. N the night is finally about relaxing and sleeping. But wait, isn’t it like you missing something. Think And Think. Most probably you say no because you quite happy and satisfied with your life and enjoy every bit of it so there’s no room for the missing part. Well my click is about the time you have for yourself. Yes, there you are. Is there any part of the day when you just enjoy being yourself and actually do something which makes you feel the happiest ever and has nothing to do with any other worldly stuff. Now of course don’t deny this. We all have some interests and passions which we want to live not because they are a crucial part of our personal or professional life but because they give us the joy of being ourselves. It may be anything- painting, dancing, writing, photography, cooking, art, music, just anything. No matter the people around us value our passions or not, but the satisfaction and the happiness achieved in doing it is something indefatigable. These things may or may not make us any money but at the same time they don’t even cost us anything. They may not be appreciated by anyone but you. But the whole story is covered up when pursuing our passions leave on us an impression that makes our lives worth living the way we desire. Now since you have almost realized you have a chance to blend your life with the colors of your passions, the question now arises is “When is the time?” In such heavily loaded routines, something like this seems really tuff. But remember where there is a will there has to be a way. And the way here is the “morning time”. Yeah the same morning which you spend doing almost nothing good. Just imagine the first thing you do in the morning is living your passion. Bet me when you do this, you will feel being the happiest creature on this planet and the spark of this will make your entire day. Isn’t this something really exciting and beautiful? For that short time, you will definitely find yourself in another world completely designed and belonging to only YOU. You are the master of your own time. I do the same every morning like writing this article. And this makes me fell in love with the morning itself. Go ahead and Win yourself!
